Imran Khan will sport a tapori look for his role as a Mumbai underworld character in Milan Luthria's Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Again, which additionally headlines Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha.
A source close to the production source told HT that Imran has agreed to sport a tapori look for his role in the film.
Imran plans to work closely with Milan Luthria to get the look, character and dialect right.
"My character belongs to the underbelly of Mumbai. So I will try and meet a few people to observe their body language and pick up nuances of their dialect," Imran told HT.
Imran, 29, has played unconventional characters earlier. He recently wrapped filming for Vishal Bhardwaj's Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mann Dola in which he plays a Haryanavi boy, a role for which he had to sport a beard, gain weight, and speak the local dialect.
Anil Kapoor is the original Tapori of Bollywood who has played a maverick gangster in many of his films. Imran's uncle Aamir Khan sported a tapori makeover in Rangeela (1995) and Ghulam (1998).
