| Salman Khan's Bodyguard Sequel |
Salman Khan will soon return as Lovely Singh, with work on the sequel to the 2011 superhit Bodyguard, headlining Kareena Kapoor and Salman, going full speed ahead, says producer Atul Agnihotri.
"For the sequel...its work is under progress for Bodyguard. We are working only on the script at the moment. We are doing a fresh take on Bodyguard," Agnihotri, who is Salman's brother-in-law told PTI.
Bodyguard was a Hindi remake of South director Siddique's 2010 Malayalam film of the same name. Siddique also wrote the story and the screenplay of the film.
Made on a budget of Rs 64 crore, Bodyguard garnered Rs 233 crore at the box-office, emerging as the biggest hit of the year.
Siddique is not writing or directing the sequel; Agnihotri says he will announce the details when things fall in place.
Surprised that someone will even ask a question if Salman is part of the sequel, Atul said,
"Not possible to make a sequel without Salman."
Rest of the cast is yet to be finalized.
Salman is currently working with brother Arbaaz in Dabangg 2. He will next begin filming for youngest brother Sohail Khan's Sher Khan.
Salman will be next seen in Kabir Khan's Ek Tha Tiger, a YRF production. The film will bow in theaters on Eid, August 17. This will be his first release since Bodyguard which released on 2011 Eid, August 31.
