Sonam Kapoor Style |
Sonam is going the extra mile to get under the skin of her character in the upcoming film Raanjhnaa, as a Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi, student.
According to HT, in order to pick up the mannerism of a Delhi girl student, Sonam has been rehearsing with two theater groups associated with the university, the Bahroop Arts Group and Indian People's Theatre Association (IPTA).
A source tells HT, "JNU is very popular for its street plays, and Sonam is rehearsing with these groups to get the hang of things. At the rehearsals of one of their plays, she's undergoing the same practice routine as the rest of the actors."
Sonam earlier played a Delhi girl in Delhi-6 and performed impressively.
Raanjhana is a love story set in Varanasi, Delhi and Punjab. Sonam plays a Varanasi girl who has been living in Delhi for the last 3-4 years as a JNU student.
Sonam is paired with Dhanush, who makes his Bollywood debut with the film. The South star, reportedly, watched Raj Kapoor DVDs in preparation for his role of a simpleton Brahmin.
Abhay Deol will play an extended cameo and AR Rahman will score the music.
Raanjhana will release in early 2013.
