Prachi Desai Craves Headlining Roles, Shahid Kapoor Pairing

Prachi Desai is counting on the 'cuteness' of her pairing with Shahid Kapoor in Teri Meri Kahanni fetching her headlining roles, particularly one with Shahid, in future projects.
The 25-year-old actress, who appeared in a surprise cameo in Teri Meri Kahaani, is aware that Kunal Kohli is making another love story and has her hopes set on she and Shahid playing lead roles in the film.
"I think we make a cute couple on-screen. I have my fingers crossed that he and I get a chance to work together again soon," Prachi told HT.
Prachi thinks the cameo and major roles in Bol Bachchan and I, Me Aur Main will testify to her appeal to audiences.
"Now that the audience has seen Shahid (Kapoor) and me together, I'm hoping filmmakers come with offers of a full-fledged role. And after Bol Bachchan and I Me Aur Main, I'm sure no one will approach me with abbreviated appearances."
Prachi recalled that Shahid stayed aloof at the start of the TMK shoot, and the two barely spoke.
"He'd be busy with his scenes. He's very reserved and shy," she says.
The ice broke when the two came face to face in Prachi's apartment building elevator, while Shahid was visiting his pal Ahmed Khan who lives in the same building.
Prachi recently said that outsiders are never taken seriously in Bollywood. She says even though she made her Bollywood debut with Rock On in 2008, its only now that she is getting good roles.
"I personally think that you need an extreme push for people to promote you and bring you to a certain level," Prachi told PTI.
In Bol Bachchan she plays Ajay Devgn's sister and Abhishek Bachchan's love interest. In I Me Aur Main she is romantically paired with John Abraham.
