Genelia D'Souza will resume her acting career, post her February wedding to actor Ritesh Deshmukh, after the monsoons, according to the producers of her film Rock The Shaadi.
A joint production of iRock and Balaji Films, the film being directed by Navdeep Singh features Abhay Deol and Genelia D'Souza in lead roles.
Filming stalled at the 50% completion mark in December 2011 after completion of a schedule in Rajasthan, reportedly due to budget issues.
The CEO of iRock Films, Siddharth M Jain and Tanuj Garg of Balaji production have rubbished rumors of the film being stalled.
"The film is very much on. We are a cost-conscious company and we are working out the details about the budget. There is only a delay of couple of months for the film, but it is very much on," Tanuj had told Mid-Day yesterday, June 14.
After Deol's comments to Mid-Day yesterday that co-producer Jain is the reason for messing up the film, Jain has informed Bollywood Hungama today that the film is not stalled and filming will resume soon.
Back in March Jain had told Mid-Day that filming is scheduled to resume in September 2012:
"October to March is the tourist season in Rajasthan. So we would get hotel bookings only at the peak rate. That would escalate the budget. Then, there is a lot of prosthetics being used in the film. Since the location is near Jaipur, we can't shoot there in summer because the prosthetics will start melting. And we can't shoot during the rains as the insurance company won't cover us for seasonal rains."
