You can see how the creative process for this film went: aliens are scary, evil teachers are scary, so put them together and you must have the scariest horror movie ever. Well it isn’t, but it’s still a funny and gruesome semi-spoof of the horror genre. In a loving homage to 60s B-movies, the teachers in a small-town school are infested by slugs from another planet, turning them into cold, psychotic and indestructible creatures, to the point where they’re able to shrug off getting their heads knocked off. In an anti-authority ending, the children of the school defeat the aliens using drugs, making it a bit like
The Breakfast Club with more blood, screaming and hideous brain parasites.
