| Mr. Baek – Sympathy for Lady Vengence |
Many of the other teachers on this list have the excuse of being totally crazy, or else belong to fantasy or science fiction universes where their horrible actions are easier to ignore. Not so Mr. Baek from the third film in Park Chan-wook’s
Vengeance series, a seemingly sane and respectable teacher who is also a child murderer, kidnapper and responsible for ruining the life of the titular character. He is a perfect example of how everyday evil can be scarier than anything in the realm of fantasy, and does more than enough to earn his gruesome fate at the end of the movie.
