Flipper |
This 1963 movie pretty much started the trend for boy-and-his-dolphin movies, to the extent that practically every other dolphin flick made since has followed in its footsteps.
Flipper itself actually suffers from a deficit of dolphins: it tends to drag when the eponymous creature is off-screen and overuse repeated footage of him when he isn’t. It also has a pretty lame excuse for the father finally accepting the dolphin (there’s enough fish in the water for man and cetacean after all) and one of the most annoying theme tunes of any mainstream Hollywood film ever.
