"I am not doing the remake of Vettai as yet. I have been approached for the film, but I have not said yes to it. But I saw the film and thoroughly enjoyed it," Shahid told TOI.
In April, Linguswamy had confirmed to TOI that Shahid is on board:
"We've already finalized Ali (Ali Zafar) and Shahid for brothers roles. Ileana D'Cruz is almost finalized."
Apparently Shahid was hesitant about the Tamil dialog writer's capabilities. UTV had brought Prasoon Joshi on board to work together with the original Tamil writer. Linguswamy confessed that he was challenged in the Hindi language.
"I cannot communicate in Hindi and the dialogues were not being translated properly. That was the main problem. Now my producer UTV is hiring a dialogue writer of their choice. That writer will be getting together with the Tamil dialogue writer of 'Vettai' to get the essence of the dialogues."
Shahid, 31, just returned to India after a three country tour - Dubai, UK and Canada, for the premieres of his new release Teri Meri Kahaani.
He will next begin shooting of his YRF film, a Maneesh Sharma directorial.
The other two projects lined up include Bijoy Nambiar's Next and Prabhudeva's Namak.
A film with Ali and Shahid as brothers? Sounds hot to us!
